The Aquaculture Environment Team undertakes a wide variety of research projects to better understand the Tasmanian coastal environment, society and the way they interact with salmon aquaculture.

This portfolio of projects involves support from, and collaboration with, a broad range of other agencies (including other research organisations, government, industry and funding bodies). Key amongst these are the University of Tasmania (UTAS), Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), the Tasmanian State Government (Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania [NRE, formerly DPIPWE] & the Tasmanian Environment Protection Authority [EPA]), Derwent Estuary Program, Cooperative Research Centres (CRC) and the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FDRC).
