Developing production systems for offshore kelp mariculture

Led by IMAS researchers Craig Johnston and Jeff Wright this project will develop, test, and demonstrate technologies for offshore kelp mariculture. The project aims to test technologies that will be scalable and environmentally responsible.

The role of the salmon interactions team in this project is to characterise and monitor sediment physicochemical properties, macrofauna communities, water quality, and environmental oxygen levels.
