Led by IMAS researchers Craig Johnson and Jeffrey Wright, this Blue Economy Cooperative Research Centre project will develop, test, and demonstrate technologies for offshore kelp mariculture. The project aims to test technologies that will be scalable and environmentally responsible.
The role of the Aquaculture Environment Team in this project is to undertake environmental monitoring around the trial kelp lease, including assessing sediment physicochemical properties, macrofauna communities, water quality, and environmental oxygen levels.
